Reinventing the pyramid

Since 2017, the Laakirchen Technology Group has stamped its presence as a forward-looking venue for meetings and discussion, with its new Miba forum. The building, which stands out even in the distance, wears multiple hats – a head office, customer centre, learning forum and innovation hotspot all in one – and the three different types of sun protection slats used on its façade embody the diverse and multidimensional character within the architectural context. This innovative sun protection, free of all through-holes, was mounted against the glazed pitched roof. A great innovation in its own right!

Approximately 2000 linear metres of horizontal sun protection slats were installed in front of around 1600 m² of glass façade and pitched roof. Thanks to an ingenious arrangement, the shading requirement for the knowledge centre can be met just as effectively as the need for a good view from inside.
